I looked and looked for a decent fountain head, but there wasn’t much to choose from. I did find one that looked promising and I bought it to try out. It was all brass and looked great:

They sent me the wrong fountain head, which still looked pretty good. Here are some pictures of my attempt at using it.

It was sturdy, but the design had a separate barrier with small holes and lots of sharp edges and narrow routes for water to follow. The result was a significantly reduced flow and lots of clogging from small debris that the pump picked up in the water. I ended up returning it.

The Pond Guy

A popular site that has a lot of pond stuff is ThePondGuy.com. They had a fountain head that looked nice, but they wanted $250 for it, and it was just plastic. It also appeared to have a custom connector, so I wasn’t sure it would work with what I was building anyway. I didn’t order that one, but I did draw on it for inspiration for my own fountain head design.
